Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 27, 2026 · Last updated: April 27, 2026

1. Summary

Pluck is a contact-export utility for iOS made by Kode Foundry ("we", "us", "our"). The short version of this policy: we do not collect any data about you. The app reads contacts from your device only when you tap to load them, processes them in memory, and produces export files that you save or share yourself. Pluck does not send your contacts (or any other information) to us or to any third party.

The longer version below explains exactly what is accessed, why, and what your rights are.

2. Who we are

Pluck is published by Kode Foundry ([LEGAL_ENTITY_DETAILS]), reachable at hello@kodefoundry.com. For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, Kode Foundry acts as the data controller for any limited information we may receive (see Section 3).

3. Data we collect

3.1 The iOS app collects nothing

Pluck (the iOS app) does not contain account creation, login, analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or telemetry SDKs. The app does not include networking code, so it cannot transmit data from your device to us or to any third party.

3.2 This website uses limited analytics

When you visit this marketing website (the page you are reading), we use Firebase Analytics (Google's analytics service) to count page views and understand which features visitors are interested in. See Section 6: Third parties & analytics for the full list of data points and cookies, and the controls available to you.

Analytics is off by default. The cookie banner at the bottom of every page lets you Accept or Reject. Your choice is remembered in your browser; you can change it any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer. Rejecting analytics has no impact on your ability to download or use the iOS app.

3.3 If you email us

You can reach us at hello@kodefoundry.com. In that case, we receive whatever you write in that email (including your email address). We use it solely to respond to you and we do not add you to any mailing list.

4. Data accessed on your device

Pluck functions by reading data that already lives on your iPhone or iPad. The following information may be accessed locally, in memory, while you use the app:

None of the above is transmitted, logged, sold, or shared. There is no back-end server.

5. Permissions

Pluck requests the following iOS permissions and only when you initiate the corresponding action:

You can revoke contacts access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Contacts → Pluck. Pluck will continue to work in .vcf-import mode without it.

6. Third parties & analytics

6.1 In the iOS app

The Pluck app does not integrate any third-party SDK that processes personal data. Specifically:

The only third parties involved in delivering the app are platform-level services that do not receive your contact data:

6.2 On this website

This marketing website uses Firebase Analytics (powered by Google Analytics 4), provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Analytics is gated by Consent Mode v2 and is off by default until you accept the cookie banner.

What is collected when you accept:

Cookies set by Firebase Analytics:

Why we use it: to count visits, understand which features people are interested in, and decide what to build next. We do not run advertising on this site, and we have not enabled Google Signals, demographic data, or ad personalization.

Data sharing: Google processes the data on our behalf as a service provider. The data flows to Google servers and is subject to Google's privacy policy and Google's terms for ads/analytics services.

Retention: by default, GA4 keeps event-level data for 14 months, then deletes it.

Your controls:

6.3 Future integrations

If we ever add another third-party integration (in the app or on the website) we will update this policy and, where required, request your explicit consent before any data is sent.

7. Retention

Pluck does not retain any data on a server, because there is no server. On your device:

8. Children's privacy

Pluck is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that age applies, including the EU). Because we do not collect any personal data, we do not knowingly process information from children. If you believe a child has used Pluck and you want to discuss it, contact us at hello@kodefoundry.com.

9. International users

Pluck is available worldwide on the App Store. Because the app does not transmit personal data, no cross-border data transfers occur as a result of using it. If you contact us by email, your message will be processed wherever Kode Foundry operates from ([OPERATING_JURISDICTION]) and stored in our email provider's standard infrastructure.

10. Your rights

Even though we do not hold a database of users, you have rights under privacy laws such as the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and similar regimes:

To exercise any of these, email hello@kodefoundry.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. EEA/UK users have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy materially changes (for example, if we add an optional cloud feature), we will update the Effective date above and, when practical, notify users in-app before the change takes effect. Continued use of Pluck after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
